This sandwich place is very unassuming but it is definitely one of the most worthwhile sandwiches that I’ve eaten. It is very cheap at $7 but the taste was exquisite. The pate made everything taste better. It does not feel dry at all unlike the Bahn Mi’s that I’ve had before. Btw, I bought the Pork Belly Pate combo and it was the rightest decision that I’ve made in my life. Also the shop is in the hood but that made the experience more real and authentic. I love this sandwich.
I've never seen a sandwich made so fast and be so delicious. Authentic, down home bahn mi shop. Best in the city maybe. Great Thai coffee too!
Great food at great price. Served by owner, there’s not great communication with her. Only takes cash so I had to walk 4 blocks up the street in San Francisco. Closes early at 5 pm. No place to sit. Place untidy
I made the mistake of not checking the time when I arrived, which happens to be 12:30 pm, lunchtime! Although there was a line, I probably waited 15 to 20 minutes to order. Not a bad wait. The line moves fast, and the workers are friendly and fast. I got the tofu and special combinations. They were both delicious. They use Semifreddi bread, which is more dense and filling, but still very good. As everyone else mentioned, cash only. They also don't charge tax but definitely tip them for fast service!
Amazing Bang Mi at very reasonable price ($5.50 each at the time of this post). It's located in the Tenderloin but it's well worth the trip. If you're squeamish about the area, get to Larkin x Market and go up Larkin and it's a few blocks behind the civic center buildings on the right side. Take out and cash only. It's a very small place so a line can suddenly form out the door, but they are pretty quick - just have your order ready.
